God, lead us to our footpath.
Nothing can be loved at speed.
God, lead us to the slow path;
to the joyous insights of the pilgrim;
another way of knowing;
another way of being.
From Michael Leunig Three-mile-an-hour God
Walk 6: Saturday August 25th
Ansty to Bedworth
10am St James Ansty Main Road, CV7 9HZ to set off by 10.15am
Walk 4.6 miles
(Noon stop to say the Coventry Litany of Reconciliation together)
12.45 pm approx. All Saints, Church Way, Bedworth CV12 8NH Open for prayer and refreshments.
Ansty: Parking up the lane in car park beyond the church.
Bedworth: There is a long stay car park near All Saints (£3.40 for 4 hours).
Remember to arrange transport in a group if possible, sharing cars and leaving a car at your destination, before driving to the starting point – not forgetting that everyone’s boots or sturdy shoes or trainers need to be with pilgrims at the starting point!
Perhaps bring a picnic to eat in the Bedworth Miners’ Welfare Park, or back in Ansty the Golf Club serves drinks and lunches.
Walk leader for August 25th
Dave Butler from St Barbara’s Earlsdon
Anyone wanting a shorter walk could leave or join at Spring Road, Barnacle CV7 9LG which is roughly half way.
Walking is mostly on tracks and fields with several stiles. Wear long trousers because there are overgrown nettles and brambles in places and a fallen tree to negotiate. If there are cattle in the field do not run. We suggest no dogs on this walk. Take care for your own safety when walking on or crossing roads.
Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
Who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.
