Saturday September 29th was an ideal day for Walk 7, from Bedworth to Fillongley: beautiful sunshine, a cooling breeze and firm, dry going underfoot. It was surprising, then, that only twelve of us took part, ten starting from All Saints, Bedworth, and two taking the shorter option from St Andrew’s, Bedworth.
Both groups blessed Bedworth, using a Caim, or “encircling prayer” from the Celtic Christian tradition – Circle ……, Lord. Keep protection near and danger afar etc. Thanks to Richard, our guide this time, we made good progress until our stopping-point for saying the Coventry Litany of Reconciliation together.
At our destination, St Mary and All Saints Fillongley, we blessed Fillongley, using the Caim again. At all three churches we received a warm welcome along with refreshments and it was good to renew and refresh contact with them, especially as all three churches are awaiting new incumbents.
